What are size grids?

Size grids are used to group data. They help to make large sets of data concise and easily understandable. Size grids are primarily used to display product variants. Instead of having multiple lines with identical product information, you can see a product inventory count and other identifying information on a single row.

The easiest way to understand size grids is through an example. Apparel companies usually have multiple variants of the same product. A company that sells red t-shirts probably also sells white, blue, and black t-shirts. There will also be a range of sizes. These t-shirts may also come in variations that can include standard sizes, plus sizes, and children's sizes. Even if this company only has five of each color and size, that is a considerable amount of data to digest line by line. Size grids allow this information to be compressed into single lines. So now, instead of seeing multiple identical black t-shirt entries, you'll see a single black t-shirt entry with the quantities of each size on one line.

Some customers or suppliers may need to see product variants as individual line items, or you may want to make price changes to individual variants, so being able to easily pivot between size grid view and traditional SKU based view is an important feature that your ERP should  be able to accommodate.
