During this turbulent time for the wholesale and retail markets, Lenny Osten, CEO of Redstone Concepts, became the North American distributor for MAC IN A SAC, a high performance packable outerwear collection designed in the United Kingdom and sold in 40 countries worldwide.
Lenny was confident from the beginning that MAC IN A SAC would develop into a recognized brand in North America, but getting started in the middle of 2021, during a pandemic, would present challenges. To mitigate some of those challenges, he knew that he wanted to get up and running quickly while keeping his expenses low.
“The whole wholesale and retail business has been turned upside down during the Covid period,” explains Lenny. “I started the business knowing that it was going to take time to develop sales, but I thought that it would give me time to get my inventory and sales channels in place and be ready when the turn-around came.”
It was his experience in the apparel business that led him to look for a business management system to help him build his company’s infrastructure. Like most companies operating during the pandemic, he was already facing supply chain issues and he needed to line up his inventory availability as he began recruiting sales representatives to market the product to retailers.
“ParagonERP was a good, affordable solution to give us a basic operating system to get started with managing our inventory, handling our invoicing and connecting to our QuickBooks Online accounting system,” says Lenny.
With these basic functionalities in place, Redstone Concepts is poised to grow. The market response to MAC IN A SAC has been very positive and sales are growing in both traditional brick and mortar retailers as well as e-commerce sales.
As Redstone Concept’s business changes in the coming months and years, so can it’s ERP system. By taking advantage of Paragon’s purpose-built apparel functionality, built-in e-commerce and business intelligence platforms, Lenny and his team will have all of the functionality they need to grow.
